About Mosaic

Mosaic is an independent daily puzzle created so more people can enjoy the community feeling of a shared daily challenge.

What is Mosaic?

Mosaic is a daily puzzle built around a simple promise: one approachable challenge each day that everyone can play, talk about, and share without spoilers. If you want more than the daily ritual, you can jump into unlimited timed or relaxed puzzles whenever the mood strikes.

It uses symbols and pattern logic rather than vocabulary, sums, spelling, or trivia. The rules are easy to learn: complete the grid so every row and column uses each symbol once. The fun is in the gradual click of deduction - small enough for a break, deep enough to make the win feel earned.

Why it was made

I built Mosaic because many daily games quietly exclude people with learning difficulties, neurodivergent players, or anyone who finds word, maths, spelling, or trivia-based puzzles more stressful than fun. I wanted the same community feeling - everyone playing the same puzzle each day - without making language or calculation the barrier to entry.

It is also designed to fit different moods. Some days you only want the daily puzzle. Other days you want to keep going. Mosaic gives you both: a shared daily ritual, plus timed and relaxed modes you can play whenever you like.

Accessibility is part of that idea, not an afterthought. Not everyone reads well under time pressure, not everyone distinguishes colours easily, and not everyone uses a mouse. Mosaic tries to work for different people in different situations, through high contrast mode, multiple symbol sets, and a layout built for both touch and keyboard.

Who made it

Mosaic was created and is maintained by Andrzej Marczewski. It is an independent project, not backed by a company or publisher.

It is free to play. If you enjoy it and want to support its continued development, you can buy me a coffee.

What makes it different

Technical notes

Mosaic is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA) using plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with no frameworks. Puzzles are generated deterministically using a seeded random number generator, which means a given seed always produces the same puzzle. The Daily Challenge seed is derived from the current UTC date and grid size, so it is the same for every player worldwide.

The game is also available as an Android app.

Mosaic is free to play - no account needed.
